“ The landfill pile is like a graveyard of time and the physical capacity of labor....things that we bought or felt we needed to buy will live beyond us in the earth
— Anoushé Shojae-Chaghorvand

While working at RAIR, Anoushé collected materials from the waste stream to create a series of kinetic sculptures that were used for a video that featured a laughing living room set. These living room sculptures were operated through the use of motors and hand puppeteering. The 3 scenes were filmed at night on the tipping floor of that recycling center and were re- creations of the 1987 Evil Dead 2 movie. All the materials used to make these sculptures were comprised 100% of discarded good coming through the recycling facility during her Anoushés residency.
